Membership
Membership of the association is open to anyone who
is in receipt of a Lucas/TRW pension or has a deferred pension entitlement
(either as former employee or as surviving spouse) and there is
an annual membership fee of £5.00 to cover day-to-day running
costs.
If you wish to become a member, click on "Joining
Form" (top left), complete the application details, print out
the completed form, and send it to Lucas/TRW Pensioners Association,
PO Box 12183, Solihull, B91 1ZR, together with a cheque for £5,
made payable to Lucas/TRW Pensioners Association. ( If you are viewing
on someone else’s machine, get them to print out a blank form,
which you can then take away and complete at your own convenience.)
When the application has been processed, you will
be sent a password by e-mail, and that password will enable you
to access the MEMBER’S FORUM pages. Your password will remain
valid for 12 months, and you will then be asked to renew your membership,
and if you choose to do so, as we would hope, then either you will
be sent a fresh password, or your existing one will be re-validated.
Your personal details, which are sufficient only
to identify you and locate you for communication purposes, will
be held securely for as long as you remain a member, and deleted
from the association’s files when your membership ceases.
If you believe in what the association is trying
to do, as set out in the Home pages, and if you believe that it
can help to safeguard your retirement benefits (and any benefit
entitlement that your surviving spouse may have when it is time
for you to go), then you should seriously consider giving the association
your support. The more members the association has, the more effective
it can be, if need arises. Please note that there is no such need
at the present time : both the company and the Pension Scheme are
being managed by people we know and trust. But that may change,
and these days change can happen very quickly.
Life membership is open to those who have contributed
£50.00 to the Association’s funds to finance set-up
costs and early running costs. They do not pay annual membership
fees but may be asked from time to time jointly to meet the costs
of any extra-ordinary commissions that the council might approve.
Life membership is not confined to those who happened to be involved
in the initial stages of setting up the association. If you would
like to make a contribution towards set-up costs, and prefer not
to have the bother of going through the renewal procedure every
year, then please mark your application form accordingly, and make
your cheque out in the sum of £50, not £5.
